At High Fashion Home, we recognize that our climate is changing, and there are major implications for our planet, the economy, and our quality of life. We understand that the future of our planet lies in the hands of small gestures. Our fundamental belief that if we all do our part, we can make a difference.
Energy Conservation and Recycling
Our Commitment
We are committed to teaming up with the Arbor Day Foundation, to plant one tree for every piece of furniture purchased. When you buy any of our high style furniture items, you will join High Fashion Home and the Arbor Day Foundation in planting trees to help our planet
The benefits of one tree can make a positive impact for years to come:
- One tree can absorb more than a ton of carbon dioxide
- Over the course of 50 years, a single tree can control $31,500 of soil erosion.
- Trees help maintain clean water supplies.
- One tree produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen a year.
Energy Conservation and Recycling

At High Fashion Home, we believe little things add up to big things. Our building was originally built in 1951. When renovating in 2004, we decided to make High Fashion Home as energy efficient as possible. A new HVAC system was installed to condition our 125,000 sf space. It greatly reduced building's energy consumption. Our lighting system consists of over a thousand HID lamps to spotlight our products, a 50% savings in energy usuage.
We recycle over 90% of all our corragated cardboard boxes, paper, and ink cartridges. With our floor lamps and chandeliers, we use mostly compact fluorescent light bulbs.

Eco-Chic Living
We actively seek out furniture manufacturers' that build beautifully crafted furniture in a sustainable manner. Great design and green design can happily co-exist in a way that can meaningly impact our homes without being overpriced.
The Alexander Sofa uses plant-based foam cushions with springs that consist of 95% recycled metal components. The solid ash is certified from sustainable forest vendors. Padding materials are comprised of 100% recycled polyester fibers. This beautiful, mid-century modern inspired piece embodies great design and green design at a smart price point.
Peroba was used to build old houses, barns, and bridges over a hundred years ago in Brazil. With the infrastructure in Brazil being rebuilt, the peroba is gathered and reclaimed from torn structures. The combination of reclaimed peroba and harvested mahogany creates a contemporary, yet organic work of art.
The La Jolla Bed by Maria Yee is made from eco-friendly bamboo, which is a highly renewable resource. Using centuries old Chinese wood joinery techniques, this hand crafted piece is constructed without the use of screws or nails. Classic contemporary furniture that is made to last is staple to all of Maria Yee's designer-quality, green furniture.
