House of Gold

The House of Gold is nestled in a medieval town in Croatia. Courtesy of desire to inspire, the House of Gold is a beautiful home renovation.  You can see how amazing the transformation was by checking out the “before” photos on this blog. The interior design of the house is very simple and fresh.  The funky rocking chair is cool!  Throughout the house, there are unexpected splashes of yellow and…

I must have a thing for bookshelves this week! : ) I saw The Equilibrium Bookcase, by Malagana Design, on Contemporist. How cool is this thing? AAKKOSET Shelf

I saw the AAKKOSET shelf, by KAYIWA, today while checking out freshome. The idea is for it to be used as an anything and everything shelf, a room divider or both. I think it’s a neat statement piece. Let’s Go To The Country

I just adore this modern country house (thank you Elle Decor for featuring it). The scenery surrounding it is breathtaking and the house is so wonderful. It belongs to architect Steven Harris and interior designer Lucien Rees Roberts. They decided to set their weekend retreat on 50 acres of land between the Catskills and the Berkshires; so incredible. Enjoy. : )  This is a picture of their driveway. Amazing!!  The…

The punches of green are very vibrant in this setting.  I love everything from the striped carpet to the understated,…

Their home has lots of eye-popping color and wallpapers yet it also has a relaxed,…

A New Paradigm for Public Spaces

Via the Contemporist, Centro Abierto de Actividades Ciudadanas in Cordoba, Spain represents an innovative twist to the idea of public spaces.  The prefabricated, circular discs provide an artistic rain protection that will house temporary markets two days a week, along with other activities.  The aerial view is quite spectacular. The discs vary in height.  You can see grand scale in relation to the two guys. The bold, soft colors are…
